Wanted someone so badly that it hurt?
     Wanted how? Wanted to be with someone,
wanted them to love me as much as I love them,
wanted to be able to hold their hand or touch their face or kiss them
when I wanted,
so much that it hurt?
Yeah.
That I've wanted.

Made a wish?
    On a glass bottle, on a slick stone,
on a silver ring, a plastic phone. I've been wishing
on fish, on 11:11, on folded chips.
I keep my eyes on the stars at night, pointing to each as if it held
particular significance,
praying (no, wishing)
that this time
it was the lucky one.
Yeah.
I've made a wish.

Been kissed?
     At least it doesn't say in the rain? because
that's a no, we never got caught
out in a storm,
and have not had that privilege
and now we never will. But there will be others (never like you)
and apart from that yes
I have been kissed, and I have kissed
and all it meant in the end
was that I was close enough to breathe someone in
and I didn't.

Fell in love?
     Plunged, been utterly submersed, felt
as though it was the be all and the end all
but it turns out
it wasn't. It wasn't enough
to make you stay.
So this is me.
This is me saying yes I fell,
and I should be in the emergency ward
for all the good it did me.
But I think that's how it works.
Yes, I've fallen in love, and
